FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
FIRE ALARM SYSTEM TYPE:

The
devices for fire alarm system can be divided into: -

Fire alarm panel c/w mimic diagram
The
fire alarm panel consists of one main panel, which is situated in the FIRE
control room. The exact location is situated in shop drawing. The main fire
alarm panel is consists of a main panel and a LED drives mimic.
The
installation begins with the fabrication of the main panel console. Upon
completion of the console, it is move to the fire control room.
Upon
securing of the main fire console, main panel is installed and secured by
screw. Termination of loop cables and power cable is then done. Prior to the
termination, checking is done to confirm there no earth fault on cable.
The
termination of cable is conducted by manufacturer certified engineer and
technician. Upon termination of cable and all cables are confirmed no fault,
testing and commissioning software is used to download and detect present of
remote field devices such as detectors.
Fire detector installation
The
fire detector used is optical type (Smoke detector). Typically detectors are
installed at the topmost level i.e. below the slab or below false ceiling.
This
project utilizes concealed conduit in slab. The detectors installed right under
the 2 way or end box.

WET RISER SYSTEM
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Requirement
for wet riser system
The
wet riser system is required for building where the topmost floor is higher
than 30.5 meter above the fire appliances access level. Wet riser comprises of
duty pump and standby pump set which discharging water into a 150 mm pipe, A
jockey pump is used to maintain pressure in the system. The water supply pipe 150
mm diameter.
Requirement
for breeching inlet installation
4-way
breeching inlet should be located not more than 30 meters from the nearest
external hydrant outlet and not more than 1B meter from fire appliances access.
Requirement
for landing valve installation
Landing
valves are provided on each floor and should comply to M.S.1489: Part 1.
Landing valves are located within fire access lobbies, protected staircase or
other protected lobbies. It is installed not more than 750 mm above ground
level. Any boxes that are to be installed for landing valves must comply with
M.S.1489: Part 1.

HOSE REEL SYSTEM
Installation Procedure
The
hose reels are usually placed such that all areas are within 30 meters hose
coverage of each hose reel. One hose reel should be provided for every 800
meter square of usable floor space. Hose reel are usually located in prominent
position at each floor level along escape routes or beside exit doors or staircase.
Each hose reel outlet is to discharge a minimum of 30 l/ min of water within 6
meters of all parts of the space protected.

CO2 SYSTEM (GAS SUPPRESSION SYSTEM)
AUTOMATIC
CARBON DIOXIDE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM
DESCRIPTION
Carbon
Dioxide Extinguishing System consists of carbon dioxide cylinders, steel
piping, discharge nozzles, heat detector, smoke detector and a control panel,
which monitors the space, activates both visual and audio alarms before
releasing the gas.
The carbon
dioxide is discharged after a time delay upon detection of fire to warn any
occupant to evacuate the room. Such system is usually provided for electrical
transformer rooms, switches rooms and standby generator rooms and should not be
installed for rooms, which are normally occupied.
